Wallpaper Installation Guide
Welcome to Akina’s Installation Guidelines
At Akina, we’re committed to making your space beautiful with our customised wallpapers. While we do not offer installation services, we’re happy to connect you with trusted independent wallpaper installers in select cities. Please note: these professionals are not affiliated with Akina, and hiring them is at your own discretion and responsibility.
Pre-Installation Checklist
To ensure a smooth and long-lasting finish, please review and follow these essential steps before installation:
1. Wall Preparation
- The wall must be smoothened with putty.
- Apply a base coat of oil-based primer mixed with enamel paint to create a strong, adhesive-friendly surface.
2. Wall Condition
Ensure the surface is:
- Dry (no seepage or moisture)
- Dust-free and clean
- Flat and crack-free
💡 Wall seepage or moisture can affect the wallpaper’s durability. Please address such issues beforehand.
3. Tools & Equipment
- A sturdy ladder is required for standard-height walls.
- For double-height or high ceilings, scaffolding is mandatory to ensure safety and installation accuracy.
4. Site Readiness
- The installation area must be clean, dust-free, and free of any ongoing work (e.g., carpentry or painting).
- Please remove furniture or fragile items from the workspace prior to the scheduled installation.
- If the installer arrives and the site is not ready, rescheduling charges may apply.
How to Measure Your Wall
Accurate measurements are crucial for a perfect fit. Follow these steps:
- Height: Measure from floor to ceiling at the tallest point of the wall.
- Width: Measure from one end to the other at the widest point.
✏️ Tip: Round up to the nearest inch/cm to avoid shortfalls.
